How to create a work template in Project service automation

Work template is used to define Leaves, Holidays, and working hours of the resources. Based on it the schedule board displays the resource availability.

In Project Service app navigate to settings area and click Calendar Template.

In the Calendar Template -> Create new work template.

Create a generic resource that will act as a resource template.

Enter the details in the generic resource and navigate to the Work hours tab where you can define the working hours, non-working hours, and Time off.

To define the hours, simply click on working hours. It will open up a form. Define the working hours in it and save it.

The work hours tab will show the working hours along with the break hours.

Now our template resource is ready. We can go back to our work template and tag the template resource in it.

Once our generic resource template is ready, it can be applied to all the resources so that their calendar gets updated as per the template.

Navigate to the Resources link in Project service app. Select a resource and click set calendar button on the ribbon.

Set calendar option will display the list of work hours templates. Search the template.

Apply the template to the resources. It will update all the working hours, non-working hours, holidays on the resources.

What is the Impact of Work template on the schedule board.

The schedule board will show the availability of the resource as per the work hours defined in it. If there is any holiday or resource on leave then the system will not do the booking of that date.
